  • Can I hire Ashfield House for a private event or celebration?
    Yes, Ashfield House is available for private hire — whether it’s a celebration of life, a birthday, or a quiet gathering. Please contact us to check availability and discuss your needs.
  • How far in advance do I need to book?
    We’re very flexible. If the date is available, bookings can sometimes be made with just 24 hours' notice.
  • Can I visit Ashfield House before making a booking?
    Absolutely. We encourage viewings so you can see the venue, explore the layout, and talk through your plans with our team.
  • How do I make a booking?
    Just visit the Contact page on our website or email us directly. We’ll get back to you promptly to confirm availability and next steps.
  • Is Ashfield House suitable for wakes and celebration of life events?
    Yes, we regularly host wakes and remembrance gatherings. Located near Bretby Crematorium and Stapenhill Cemetery, Ashfield House provides a calm, respectful setting with everything you need under one roof.
  • What’s included in a typical funeral or wake package?
    Our packages include: A choice of hot or cold buffet, or a sit-down meal Unlimited tea and coffee Access to our fully licensed bar Exclusive use of the venue during your booking
  • Can we play music or a slideshow during the event?
    Yes. You’re welcome to bring your own screen for a slideshow. For music, we provide in-venue Bluetooth speakers (Echo devices), which you can easily connect to using your phone or other smart device. Our team will be happy to help you get everything set up.
  • Will we have private use of the venue during our event?
    Yes, your booking guarantees full, exclusive use of the venue.
  • What is the capacity of Ashfield House?
    We can comfortably host events for 120–140 guests.
  • Is there free on-site parking available for guests?
    Yes, we offer around 40 on-site spaces at the front, side, and rear of the venue.
  • Do you have disabled access and facilities?
    Yes, the venue is fully accessible, with step-free access, flat flooring throughout, and a disabled toilet on-site.
  • Are pets or guide dogs allowed?
    Guide dogs are always welcome. Family pets may be allowed by prior arrangement, especially for remembrance events — just let us know in advance.
  • What kind of food is available?
    Our in-house catering includes: Finger buffets Hot fork buffets Traditional afternoon tea Three-course sit-down meals We cater to all dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, and allergen-sensitive needs.
  • Do you have a licensed bar?
    Yes, we offer a fully licensed bar with a wide selection of drinks and friendly, discreet service throughout your event.
  • Can I bring my own food or alcohol?
    We typically use our own chefs, but in exceptional circumstances, outside catering may be permitted - please discuss this when booking. You may bring your own alcohol for special toasts, subject to a corkage fee.
